Jones received an award called the Gatorade track and field Athlete of the Year award while at high school. as a cellist in the student section, Jones was also part of her school's school orchestra. Jones was one of the top hurdlers in her first year of the college. In 2002, she was the winner of the 100-meter hurdles during the NCAA Track & Field Championship. In addition, she was a part of the team that finished second in the 100-meters relay. Jones was the winner of the NCAA Indoor Hurdles event in 2003 as well as 2004. Jones' career began in 2005 after she completed her bachelor's degree. She began to train for a career in track. In the same year, she won her first Torino Memorial Event, while in 2026, she was the winner of the Ostrava Track event and Heusden.
